you need to heat the pan up first called (curing the pan) and then add the oil and wipe off, then get ready to cook

If food sticks that means something's wrong with the seasoning, or perhaps the pan is washed too often with soap.

My wife has an old cast iron pan, food seems to stick to it a lot, is there a solution for that? or should we use some more butter or oil?
