  • is it only Dayton 1/4" ends that have the center jack as positive and the long contact as negative? Or do all cables generally do it the same way? I'm trying to repair 1/4" guitar patch cables and also 1/4" speaker cables

  • @FTIBand if you search "TRS Connector" on Wikipedia, there is a nice diagram of both stereo and mono 1/4" cables, with explanations of what typically goes where. Sorry but YouTube won't let me send you a link in comments.
