http://store.bassemporium.com/index.php?shop=1&c=1.23&products_pgn=all Fender's Classic Series '70s Precision Bass authentically evokes the era when our first bass rocked with more versatile use than ever, from prog to punk and metal to funk. Vintage touches include bass-side thumb rest (first adopted in 1974), '70s-style large headstock logo and bound neck with block inlays.

Features also include an alder body, C-shaped maple neck, maple fretboard with 9.5" radius and 20 vintage-style frets, classic split single-coil pickup, three-ply black-white-black pickguard, knurled control knobs (volume, tone), vintage-style four-saddle bridge and '70s-style "Fender"-stamped open-gear tuners.

  • @overdriven77 We are planning on doing so - thanks!

  • Radial Pro-DI direct into the Canon video camera. The sound is all bass!!!

  • Hi - that's mostly true. There were a few made with Block Inlays in binding in the '70s. You can find them in some of the Fender books and I ordered a couple for customers back in '75 ~ '76. But, you're right - they were never a catalog item. Fender calls this the "Fender P-Bass they should have made as a standard model". It's still a great bass - made in the same factory as your Geddy!!

  • precisions always sounded a bit planky to me give me a 70's jazz or a ricky 4001 any day

  • This thing is really sweet. Took a plunge and got one online. Most beautiful P bass I've ever seen, you really need to see it in person though. Neck feel is pretty much like the modern P bass. I own an actual 1979 fretless P and it's much chunkier, but non the less this thing has the very warm tone right out of the box, something that usually takes years to obtain on new instruments. It feels awesome, sounds awesome, and looks killer. Like it much more than the American made P basses.

  • What amp are you using ? Sounds amazing !
