STAR AWARDS

This video of Bob Kilbride by Mike Hazard is a parody of the Academy Awards. This one is for artists and the arts.

The artist Bob Kilbride declined interest in making a video, then word came he had a 500 page script in the works. Whoa.

We decided to do whatever we could during one Saturday night session, shooting in sequence with in camera editing. STAR AWARDS is the result.

The first six minutes are a parody of a gala banquet before the STAR AWARDS, an annual ceremony where the highlight is awarding the MVP, Most Valuable Painting.

It stars Bob Kilbride, Greg Kelsey, Sally Johnson, Patricia Olson, Joyce Kilbride, Emma Bradley and Kate Thomes.

The director Media Mike notes, "Looked at in one way, STAR AWARDS satires ponderous documentary portraits of artists. I love the way the video looks like one of the late artist's paintings. Kilbride painted props as well as wrote the script."
