The Willet Hot Springs is an excellent backpacking destination in the Sespe Wilderness located within the Los Padres National Forest. Just over 10.2 miles from the Piedra Blanca trailhead, the moderate hike features stunning views, swimming holes and a chance to view abundant wildlife. This video features a solo overnight trek in June 2009. If hiking during the summer months, adventurers should be prepared for hot, dry conditions. Shade is minimal. Water is plentiful, however, as long as you are carrying a functional water filtration system.

  • why would you tell the general public how to get here and ruin it? cuz that is what eventually will happen,. please think about it and take this down,. the locals are very concerned about wildlife and people trashing it,.

  • @futuristfood2 Well, I guess I have more of a populist approach to the outdoors. I have introduced many people to camping, and backpacking in the Sespe Wilderness. Some of them have grown to become avid outdoors people who love, protect and enjoy our wide open spaces. Personally, I want to encourage people to get out and enjoy the fresh air, sleep under the stars, wake up next to a stream, leave the ipod behind and just take it all in.

  • I am going tommorrow.I love the Sespe

  • @adamup2n2 Enjoy my friend! See you on the trail one day. ; )

  • @ddegrandpre I would love to hear the history surrounding it's discovery. I know "Old Man Mutah" was a cattle and horse "entrepreneuer", so to speak and used the Hot Springs canyon for "moving" stock.

  • The Sespe Hot Springs was discovered by my great, great grandfather and uncle: Lorenzo Dow Chillson and Jacklin Willett.

  • this video is giving me a headache with all that shaking

  • @enjoythewildUSA 1 or maybe 2 other guys before they go off to college

  • @HikingVegas Well good luck to you my man. How many members of your team are rolling with you?

  • @enjoythewildUSA You bet! I think I am going up to Charleston to log about 30 or 35 miles this upcoming weekend! Maybe a night peak too we will see!
