Well, initially, if everything was caused by the professor, and the professor was actually Ryo, that means that Ryo had to have traveled back at some point, before the professor existed (Since he would eventually turn into him, and is from the future, he could not be in that timeline unless he traveled back intitally for a different reason, or perhaps the same, but with different people? Who knows? lol, anyway...) So, originally, what was their goal? lol, hope it wasn't too confusing. :P

I love this series. Watched it, like, 3 times. But seriously, it has one of the worst and most disappointing endings ever.
If there was a competition for the most cliche deus ex machina, it would take all three top places.
It just "so happens" that Gawl magically "resonates" with the m-fing TOWER(of DOOM!!!), future Koji and Ryo delay the female overlord just long enough for Gawl to recover and in a split second understand what is required of him to do even though WE got a 10 minute explanation.

Good question...I think he had a change to choose between timelines or create a new one, so he prefered the timeline where they were but without kubere...I didn't really get it either...
