  • Hello all who posted. I now have access to another Hammond. So I'll post more soon. I've been in school since these videos. So, the new ones should be much better.

  • It's so funny when I read or hear someone saying the "Hammond is forgotten." Ask just about any American black person & they'll tell you this is the signature sound associated with church. Never once has this changed since the inception & popularization of the Hammond into the black church. The only people who forgot it were those who were not creative enough to properly utilize it & to them it is but a novelty.

  • Beautiful. Nice and smooth. Interesting chord substitutions and tritones. Thanks for posting.

  • What I Like about this To me He is Calm And Humble And He is not Bragging About himself Got Is Doing Great THings

  • From 0:01 to 0:04, we have to wait till he lets out a fart before the music starts

  • what a load of rubbish

  • he nice

  • Amazing, but, just one way of playing.

  • @ThatsABiggon Actually what is forgotten is the almighty Wurlitzer electrostatic (ES)reed organ which was also a common sight in churches of all race and creed. Wurlitzer reed organs were another electromechanical marvel like a Hammond tone wheel organ. In 54' w/ Wurlitzer 4600 redesigned the ES w/ air blowing constant on all reeds at once for instant attack. The B3 landed in 55' & same year Wurlitzer introduced the ES 'free reed' 4800. A 4600 ep just uploaded 45catdotcom (vid btm)

  • @TheOMPMUZIKGROUP: how does it help him? he can't see the chord structure either, LOL.

i think this helps anyone who wants to listen to some organ playing.

  • It would be nice to see the top veiw so that we who don"t have the ear can recognize your chord structure and key signature. Yea you're nice and all but this video helps no one but you.

  • that must be a 122 Leslie

  • @BadTanLines

Lighten up cat! it's a figure of speech. The way a hammond should be played is those who hear feel great for a moment and enjoy the feeling after the music stops. Regardless of style(gospel/boogie/old school jazz or anything else). Fast, slow, Bluesy, jazzy or sacred, it should make you feel good. Woah Nellie! listen to some Jimmy smith, then Frostie (mitch woods) finish up with some Hymns& Twinkie Clark. It's ALL GOOD, baby. If those dont make you feel good, your feeler is broke.
