Im using Final cut as well. I just got a Canon HV30 to shoot her team this season. This will be the first time I shoot/edit in HD. Do you have any advice with settings, 24P/30P?, Etc.

Forgot 24P. The quasi "film look" is really cheesy. Stay with 30FPS. With quick pans, slo-mo, etc, 24P starts to get really stuttery and chokes.

Nice Job! Love your editing. I make these type of videos for my daughters teams as well. this was inspiring...i love the Natasha bedingfield song. I had planned on using it this season. now I can see it works really well.

I just use iMovie for these little sports videos. As a commercial/corporate director (my occupation), I usually shoot 108i HD and edit with either Avid or Final Cut.
