@trans - I know all about WW2. First point - the BSP soundtrack to the film is brilliant. Second, I'm from Nothern Ireland and haven't enough words here to describe how much extreme nationalism - blue and green, no difference to me - fucks up the place. There has been some growing up as we have seen, but the fascists on the edges still run their drugs, dodgy fuel, bombs and shootings as they try to get rich, fuck up the environment and care for no one but themselves. Happy New Year!

@MrMurphyisacat See your point. But we`re not rabid nationalists. The Germans, Japanese, and Italians were, though. BSP stood firm, and alone, in the Med, with enormous sacrifices. Malta wanted to remain free, and the men of BSP made it happen. Greek independence from fascist rule, where civilians were hanged from streetlamps. Enabled by BSP. Food to starving Britain, supplies to Russia across the wastes. D-Day landings, and victory in the desert. The senior service. Worthy BSP.

Stirkes me there's a lot of growing up required below. Just forget nationalism - of any sort - and realise that war is a very, very, silly thing indeed.

@LeoMMXI Thanks chief. From Japan, a nation who builds and builds more cool ships. They are an island and they follow just ONE example:BSP.

@transonicbuoy1 Well said. We must stress, however, that it is 'British' Sea Power, and not just English; we would never have been the power we were without the ingenuity of Scottish engineering, take the carronade for example, nor should we forget the hardiness and determination of Welsh miners, and the many sacrifices made by the Irish and their Ulster officers. Equally, as with all nations, our past is not spotless, and we must remain vigilant to oppression and slavery. God save the Queen.

@withnielandi But you'll live in their country off of their benefits like a tramp. Now stop being a depressed little faggot and shut the fuck up. If you don't like your life then kill your self quick time son.

Go home and wait for your white feather withnielandi.

Ashamed to be English? Even though Englishmen fought, and died, for a free and prosperous Europe? By the million? To defeat murderous Naziism? In fighters, in bombers, across deserts and plains? In 1815 and 1914 and 1939. Good men - and now Europe and the world enjoy the rewards. Democracy and a free market. In the Med, across the Indian and Pacific Oceans, the freezing North Sea: the ghosts of British Sea Power.
