Design, planning and hard work bring a 1950s kitchen into the 21st century. This video is part of Spice Up My Kitchen show hosted by Lauren Lake . SHOW DESCRIPTION :This brand new series cooks up a hot new space for homeowners whose kitchens are as stale as two-week old bread. In each episode, homeowners give us an up-close look at their ugly, dysfunctional kitchen and then tell the design team their dream kitchen wish list. Maybe it's a new refrigerator, new flooring or deluxe cabinets and countertops. The experts then present two design-plan options within the same budget from which the homeowners can choose; essentially, two ways to spend the same budget. Once the selection is made, the makeover gets under way, and the formerly heartburn-inducing kitchen is transformed into a deliciously flavorful new space.

  • Seriously??? $50K budget?? Who has that kind of money to put into a kitchen? This video is not for the average person. I guess if you're rich you have that kind of money.

  • The budget is great but the appliances are a bit pricey. I would opt to do cheaper stainless steel products. I love the cabinets and color of the island. Great floors, did you say they are heated? How much did that cost?

  • waserman123 thank God I was not the only one who had this thought they destroyed the cool 1950's look.... the retro look is so in style & "different" than what everyone else has... If he couldn't cook on that stove he could cook period & a romantic dinner requires candles on a table now they don't even have a table in the room but just a counter top?? I thought the kitchen was better when the floor was an open plan..

  • These HGTV vids are so low on usable content for most people these days. Everyone already knows that if you have outrageous amounts of money to throw at something you can get all sorts of high-end stuff. The trick is to provide information for most folks who don't have 50K to throw into a kitchen redo. If you have 50 K to throw at a kitchen, then you have that extra 3K + to hire a design team as well. Useless stuff. These vids are disguised advertising.

  • i liked the originial kitchen the stove was really cool, they destroyed the cool 1950's look it had, another relick bites the dust!

  • YEA, THAT IS DERAM NOT DREAM.

  • Who has 50 grand for a kitchen. I could only deram...
