The rider position is iperextended, he should be closer to the pedals.
2 with an underseat handlelbar his control ( directionality ) would have been much better

Indeed, as this video demonstrates; in most cases they may be slower going up but they get there. Plus they'll blow an upright off the road going down the other side!

Oh I agree... they can climb fine. They are just not usually as fast. (depending on the motor of course)
