@mikexlong Agreed man! It's really hard to believe that Sir Lord Baltimore released those two songs in 1971! SLB was at least 8 years ahead of their time!

Sir Lord Baltimore recorded two of the heaviest tracks known to man: woman tamer and caesar lx11.

@fingerleeshands But I have to agree with you on Sir Lord Baltimore. Definitely a comparison there.

@fingerleeshands Blue Cheer was heavy, but more psychedelically-influenced. I wouldn't say Leigh Stephens guitar style or proficiency comes close to Tony Iommi's. Likewise with Dicky's vocals to Ozzy's.
Doom metal also involves a certain lyrical context - dread, terror, etc. Blue Cheer don't fit that at all.

@fingerleeshands After looking what few were actually on youtube, mainly Shades of Darkness, Sir Lord Baltimore, they seem to originate from the same era. Sorry man, if you think that resembles the heavy ass shit on their first album (1969), you're wrong.
One of my favorite Pentagram songs, good to see these guys getting some attention.
