actually the msrp is 13,800 but they get them for lower than that. you can talk them down a grand or so i got mine for 12,800 with nothing but the quick shift. i couldnt find one without all the crap on it anywhere so i had to order it without it.

@Rumblingbelly ohh damn :D

@Lackaffenbelustiger In Finland it does if you want to drive it on the streets, we have high taxes in everything, in motorycles and fuel. I bought my S1000RR for the track only so i pay 21000$+ that price contains tax 22%, USA seems to have no taxes at all. Estonia too, when I visited there i saw much better cars than in Finland, S-class Mercedes and 7 series BMW were common there. It sucks to live in Finland.

@Rumblingbelly wtf?! it doesnt costs 30000$!! maybe a ducati, but not the bmw

I read a few articles on this bike. they all said that bmw has put so much time and money into this bike and are showing up a little late to the party. so they are pricing this bike just a little more than the japanese 1000s in hopes to storm the market. I think its working because i was looking to get an r1, now have an r6, and i now plan on this being my next bike!

My friend just bought one of these. US$26,000 with full options. Standard goes for about US$21,000. Where is this? South Korea. Might wait until next year and try to get a used one. Love this bike, even if it is ugly. Lol.

S1000RR costs 16844€+options in Finland for offroad (track) only.
21800€ for registered in streets so thats 29651$, sick..!

I hope the price will stay the same for 2011 . It might be much harder to sell the bike for ~20k in the future. Now the price is very competetive , slightly higher than japanese RR's . Good for us :) .

Yeah , the base price is $13,800 . Don't forget about Tax , delivery fee and other options . So the price is ~15 ,000 .
Still cheaper than in Europe :) .
Smart BMW's move .They will sell tons of new 1000RR's.

I hope they do do well, but i think it'll be a pretty tall order for them, since it is new territory for bmw, they havent done a properly focused sports bike before, whereas the other teams have loads of experience.
