  • I love how every video about ANYTHING related to war, military, ships etc. ALWAYS turns into a country bashing contest. Maturity has no nationality.

  • @shipwright727 fyi HMS Victory still has seven original guns on board that were fired at Trafalgar.

  • That there is a ship I believe she's the oldest ship above water. The US Constitution being second.

  • Does this ship currently have a full compliment of guns or were they simply all moved to one side to make this happen? Last I heard it only has half the number of guns it originally carried (of course, that number varies too!).

If not, it'd be nice even to have the rest be dummies (foam with a steel tube?) that can handle similar pyrotechnics.

  • @plusultra86 Please do. I couldn't care less. It's merely nationalism.... we're all friends now afterall. Every nation has won and lost battles in the past. No need to get upset over it today.

  • @pugilistofpower Excuse me, but I'm not me or my country, who is dedicated to film and movie, Master and Commander, and remember their victories makes two centuries ...

With respect I can also tell my country's victories against the English ...

and do not need to shoot movies, I just need to visit the museum of my city and my country. bye

  • @plusultra86 Coulds and woulds are meaningless, I'm afraid. You're speaking about hypothetical situations two centuries ago. The war was long ago lost so why go on about it?

  • The Spanish ships, santa ana, lightning, Prince of Asturias and Holy Trinity, had more than 100 guns and were more potent than victory.

But all these Spanish ships were commanded by Villeneuve(French)who knew nothing of the sea.and had to obey his orders.

If France and Spain was led by a Spanish admiral ...

Nelson would return to Spain losing to

Expedition of St. John, Battle of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, and the assault on Cadiz.

All with Spanish victory and defeat British (with Nelson defeated)

  • and the reason we still have the Victory with us today is because of a 98 gun second rate ship called Temeraire or The Fighting Temeraire to give her the correct post Battle of Trafalgar name.

  • is it a sad fact that they create additional smoke from the gounde or are there just some remains from the cannons falling down?

But thanks for the vid, i would love to see and hear something like that on my own

  • Image how loud that would have been on the ship during the actual battle.

  • @plusultra86 The Trinidad was the largest ship in the world but at a price. It was built as a 112 gun first rate but was fitted out with more guns first in 1796 to make it a 130 and then again in 1802 to make it 140 guns. These extra guns were the smaller variety and they were crammed in to any available space. The result was a lot of firepower, but the cost of this was a slower and much less maneuverable ship. Victory had 104 heavy guns but also had great movement for its size.
