Application of Beamforming technique in acoustics.

"There are hundreds of sound sources present in modern life, but often only sources such as vehicles, aircraft and production sites are considered when discussing noise policies.

Making sounds visible and using the power of visual information may provide means to increase awareness of the fact that so many things of modern live are producing noise and that these noises are not always unwanted."

  • So, are we looking at the output of an array of intensity probes in the plain of the camera lens, with the output mapping calibrate to match the image scope?

Could we look at the directivity patterns of acoustic output this way?
