This is a suggestion for tracking a wounded deer at night.

Use two LED flashlights, one with a strobe. Use the one with a strobe as a beacon when you lose the blood trail. When deer hunting, the animal does not always fall dead when shot. Sometimes the deer will run for a little ways, then die. When hunting in the evening, if a deer runs off right before sun down, tracking the animal in the dark and can a daunting task.
