The Toyota F1 Team spent the weekend at Laguna Seca raceway in California and blew the track record away. Check out this exclusive behind-the-scenes video shot by our VehicleVoice video crew.
and that was a test driver, in a middle of the grid F1 car. a ferrari or 2010 red bull with 1st team driver would be even quicker. i would love to see f1 race at laguna seca. Great circuit.
They did a live stream on RaceDirector back in'07 for it, but alas with the subsequent dissolving of the series into the IRL in 2008, video archives are difficult to find. I'll check with the crapwagon forum guys.
The lap time between a front running and rear end F1 car would be negligable around Laguna given the dusty surface, no relevent rubber laid on the racing line and no setup data. I'd be interested to see a recording of the Panoz lap record in question though.
I love Toyota!MfG from Austria

so, an f1 car can officially unofficially go round in 1-60, but a champ car can officially unofficially go round in 1-59? did not see that coming

At least Champcar and CART had real racing with lots of passing, something F1 has still to master after 60 years...
