Just as the whole of India was celebrating its freedom and independence from British colonial rule, in mid-noon on 15 August, Tsewang Norbu, a 29 year old monk of Nyatso monastery, Tawu County (Kardze) eastern Tibet, self immolated himself calling the world's attention to the lack of freedom to the Tibetan people.

Therefore, out of helplessness and desperation, 11 Tibetans including two nuns, have self immolated since March this year till recently as on, Thursday, 3rd November, calling for freedom and the return of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to Tibet.

And the Chinese government, instead of looking into the Tibetan people's aspiration for freedom and human rights, the policy of suppressing them, stands in complete violation of the international covenants on basic human rights. And also keeps on denouncing His Holiness the Dalai Lama and his middle way approach for a genuine autonomy for Tibet through its false propaganda.

Such tragic incidents which happen frequently in Tibet are a clear indication of the Tibetan people's deep-seated resentment against the Chinese government's wrong policy on Tibet.

Hence, we strongly urge the Chinese government to put an immediate end to its consistent policy of cracking down on Tibetans. By looking into the genuine aspirations of the Tibetan people, the Chinese government should provide them rights enshrined in the constitution and stop its policy of destroying equality and harmony among the ethnic nationalities

We urge the peace loving people of India to lead the World community in putting pressure on the People's Republic of China in resolving Tibet issue peacefully and also to invite His Holiness the Dalai Lama to Tibet.

Today, I Sherab TseDor, will self immolate myself infront of the Chinese embassy in protest against the ongoing repressive measures against the background of all the 11 martyrs who clearly speaks for those Tibetans inside Tibet.I beg and plead the world leaders and peace loving people to please do something for the genuine cause of Tibet.we are dying and it's moral responsibility of every freedom loving people to support us.
