The Department of Labors National Compensation Survey did, in fact, find that all women earn 76 cents to every dollar earned by men... but this doesn't mean that people in the same position are getting paid different wages. Women are half again more likely to work in non-profit fields, and four times as likely to take breaks from their careers to birth and raise children. Same position, same time, gets same pay across the board.
