Underrated music in game and overshadowed by the Second games Wiley Stage music. Simply incredible!

The music is awesome. One of my favourites for Megaman.

That rock devil made me cry when I was a kid!! It wasn't until later that I learned the cheap (but reasonable) way to defeat.
Love this song too, the Wily songs are always great, but this one is awesome, too bad it gets shuffled to the back by the other songs.

Yeah, that was the only reason why Guts Man's stage was so friggin' hard at first

memories.... always the same joy when I made it this far, but always the disappointment to die at Yellow Devil

The only thing I hated about this game was whenever you fell off of a platform instead of jumping off is that you plummet to the ground
-
Its the fastest battle though because the hard knuckle does so much damage

I love this music and the level! It's hard and fun! I really wish capcom could have made a castle map for this fortress!!!
can you manage to get behind him without taking a hit? I didn't think that was really possible but if you can then good for you man.
The Yellow Devil I personally hate is in MM3 because instead of jumping/ducking the segments, he will sometimes turn into these slinky-like things and hops over to you and is very very hard to hop over or duck under, even with the slide.

If timed right, I'm sure it's possible to get behind him without taking damage. Navi Mode gives a hint of using the Rush Jet whilst fighting the Yellow Devil in Mega Man 3; it may be possible to fly over them with it when he uses that attack (and possibly for the whole battle, too, if enough energy for it is provided for the duration of the fight).

If you fight him enough, you should get used to the pattern, it is the same one every time. Stand still, more to the far side of the devil and just wait for blocks 1 or 2 lengths high and just hop straight up over each one as it comes by. At one point in each sequence, there will always be a 1 row high followed by a 2 row high and you just have to quickly jump one then jump the other. After a while it becomes like skipping rope and you can usually get through it untouched.

Okay. With the tip you've given, actually, I think I may have come up with a simplier technique: to dodge the bloches: jump over the lower 1 and 2 rows of the blocks, and once the lower parts of his body have shifted, hide behind the Yellow Devil to dodge the rest.
