Heres a quick tour my new car. I SOLD MY 1988 GRAND PRIX in favor of this one because its in better shape mechanically and has more bells and whistles. As of right now it just needs a water pump (as you can hear in the video) and a transmission fluid change.

More about the car, its a 1989 Pontiac Grand Prix. It has a 3.1 V6 with 112,000 miles on it. It has almost every option like power windows, locks, mirrors, seats, sunroof, and a driver info center. I don't plan on driving this anytime soon, its going to be my summer car.

  • Im looking a way to know what speakers fits for my pontiac grandprix 2 doors 1989 and cant find a website for it can you help me out?

  • @ksmmayhem

It has 4x6s in the front and 6x9s in the rear

  • @xScoobyDoo82x I just bought them, pioneers to be specific. I have only one problem. I dont know how to remove the 4x6 speakers the ones in the dash and in the door panels :S.. Can you help me yout ? :)

  • @ksmmayhem Im not sure about the door speakers because mine didnt have those.. but to remove the speakers in the dash, you have to remove the entire upper piece to the dash. Remove your wiper and headlight controls, theres 1 or 2 phillips screws on each module... then you have to remove the trim around the gauge cluster, theres 2 phillips screws right above the gauge cluster and 4 7mm bolts that hold it to the dash. Remove that... and finally you have to remove the glovebox..

  • @xScoobyDoo82x BEFORE YOU REMOVE THE GLOVEBOX THOUGH... check and see if therse an access hole for the final 7mm bolt. I took my glove box out to reach it but apparently theres an access hole, but I never noticed. If there isnt then you do have to remove the glovebox, and theres 1 7mm bolt you have to take out and then the whole upper part should come off, its clipped in too so you have to be a little firm with it. Finally I believe the speakers themselves are held in with 7mm bolts.

  • @HEDPE1100 No, thats something wrong 7 grand is redline. Either the trans is shot or they hacked that gear kit together. Although I dont THINK they make kits for these transmissions, they're relatively basic.

  • @HEDPE1100 I would definitely say go for it, these are awesome and pretty advanced cars for the year. The turn signal problem might be the contacts on the stalk, Ive had 2 Grand Prixs and both of them had the same problem, I just cleaned the contacts and they worked perfectly.

  • @xScoobyDoo82x thats fucked up if you tell me... I almost break the dash panel trying to get the speakers out... Thanks for the info though. Im still wondering how I can get the door speakers out .. I recently bought a radio and some speakers and I want to mount them. Today I mounted the 6x9 speakers pioneer 400w 3 way... they sound well.. but with the new radio and the other new speakers its suppose to increase it's effectiveness ..

  • @xScoobyDoo82x is that an HO or LO quad 4 cause i just got a 89 grand am (for free :D ) and the engine has been replaced. supposedly its a racing quad 4 and by listening to your exhuast which is damn near or if not the same as mine. only prob is, is that i cant tell if the engine is an HO but compared to how it sounds, is yours a LO or is it that not all my fuel injectors firing off? cuzz it kinda sounds beasty. btw two injectors do leak so i cant tell with it like that

  • I always liked the Grand Prix's and its big brother the Bonneville...too bad Pontiac is gone...the cars they made were actually good looking and some were sleepers...the Grand Prix GTP and GXP's are freakin rockets...wish they still made these cars

  • car sounds GREAT! Hard to find these old GM cars here in NC

  • Owned one exactly like this one when new. Mine had leather and 6 band equalizer and speakers in the doors, had a button to turn them off/on called it performance loudness if I remember right. But when these White SE's were waxed and tire black shine applied, very very sharp and at night with 1000 buttons lit in amber, wish I would have kept it. Went to the Toronado which was no slouch. Not real fast but still fun to drive.
