@BlueBerryFairy1 I'm German and I read the book, and I say to you, the book is a THOUSAND times better than the movie. To be honest, I didn't even like the movie. The actress playing the main character is, at least in my opinion, a quite awful choice. And there are way too many scenes missing, instead, they invented new ones, which sickens me the most.
The book was a masterpiece, so, why did they change it? Why change a perfectly written story?

again, and then raped again. Why? I m horrified, really horrified about this movie.
But i heard the book was a lot better than the movie. and i m sure about that

@BlueBerryFairy1 The movie is artfully and meticulously produced. I saw it with my limited German and figured I just must be missing a lot until I read the reviews, which are definitely mixed - lots of adjectives such as "schrecklich" (horrible).

@azoteotro schrecklich is a really good word for that but i talked to people who read the book and they said the movie was bad but probably there are people who liked it
