  • I used to watch "die Breuers" with my mom when I was little, and still haven't seen a better 'Quickstep' then Karl Breuer used to dance. He made that dance look so simple and effortless, it was amazing. One can't really tell how good they were on this video, but better than nothing.

By the way - it used to be soo much better watching the amateurs than the pros. Too bad they didn't perform one by one.

  • Wait until I've uploaded Benny Tolmeyer and Silvia Silve who danced in the same decade... You'll change your opinion about the quickstep.....

  • Well, the costumes have definitely changed! I wanna see a competition where it was Cha Cha, Samba, Rumba, Paso Doble, Tango.

  • In 60-s we can already see than woman change their dress to very short (but still in ballroom style) and colorfull and the men still are in strict tail-coats (you can find this in YouTube). During 70-s and beginning of 80-s the men changed their coats also to (extremely) colorfull and tight-fitting. Towards end of 80-s the heaps movement start to appear and only at 90-s we can see dancing that is relative close to that we call today "Latino-American competitive dancing"

  • It is interesting to see that professional latin dance style originated from ballrom (standard) and how it was changed with years. In the first latin competitions we see men and woman still dance with their ballroom costumes : men with tail-couts and woman with long dresses, just a bit shorter than original ballroom dresses.

  • I do bet you could not.

  • fajne fajne xDD jeszcze czasy jak było PASO w tańcach standardowych xDD

  • This is why I love YouTube.

  • awesome skirts :-)
