Jerry Springer Opera Edinburgh Festival 2009 Blasphemy

Jerry Springer The Opera, last performed in Edinburgh in 2006 and opposed by Zion Baptist Church, was again met by a Christian protest consisting of over twenty of our members plus a few others.Its sufficient to say that the play ridicules & mocks God & his son, the Lord Jesus Christ. That particular evening the whole cast came out to be photographed & during the few minutes that it lasted one of our elders, John McDermott, took the oppertunity to preach to them & share with them how the Lord had saved him & transformed his life. We thank God for the one or two of God's people who were there every evening & gave out literature which added to the witness.

I Love the moment when the couple was walking holding hands to see the theatre. As the song says "don't let this moment to die". It is then religious fundamentalist blames us to mocking them when they should consider first that their double morality and lives just deserve one the best show ever made. They should applaud this show a a great portrait
