Harness Horse Racing Accident 2008 Jason Bartlett Yonkers

Yonkers, NY --- Jason Bartlett, leading driver at Yonkers Raceway, was injured in a second race accident on Friday night.
Bartlett, driving Hurricane Mike, was unseated when the sulky broke passing the quarter-mile pole, and was subsequently run over by trailing horses and sulkies.

He suffered an injury to his right leg, and was taken to Lawrence Hospital in nearby Bronxville, N.Y. for tests and further evaluation. No further information was available as of this writing.

The 27-year-old Bartlett, a native of Augusta, Maine, won his 2,000th career race earlier this season. Overall in 2008, he has won 241 races and more than $2 million in purses, with 178 victories and more than $1.6 million in purses coming here. He won the evening's first race with the favored Your Not Funny.

Well other then Portland, all towns in ME are small Agusta is not really that small and is the capital city. Many drivers get there start in Maine tracks like Bangor and Scarbough. I have been to Agusta and Scarboro many many times as my ln laws were from both places-I am not longer with them being now divorced but still go to OOB and scarboro once in a while-tough sport. I usually get into my car and leave after a bad accident it is tough to watch

I watched Bartlett drive a lot at Bangor Raceway when he was younger. He always could drive the heck out of anything. Very talented driver. It's been very fun to see a guy from small town Maine make it in the big time.

wow that was bad. was out in vegas when bartlett made his debut out there. was very suprised to see his name on the sheet. told all my friends in the book he was gonna be a stud out there and he is.
