The vocoder recording was done by me. Carrier-Signal is a straight saw from the Roland JX3P. No voiced/unvoiced detector is used; instead of I used a good amount of high frequencies of the original signal, which was added

to the outputsignal.

I played the cassette of the answering machine back in a Fostex 280 multitrack deck (best 4track cassette deck ever), a Yamaha 2020 was the compressor, the noisegate was from Ashley.

You can tell it's a vocoder and not a computer since one can hear the persons lips and tongue smacking.
