I don't know why people keep saying it either. I think Martin Clunes is gorgeous, even now - but especially during his Men Behaving Badly days. The first three series, he was very hot, in my opinion ;-)

It seems that in every interview someone always brings up Martin Clunes' looks in a negative way. I quite like the way he looks, but in England is he considered ugly?

thinking about this over night and maybe in England the rest of the male population are like David Beckham!.....that's why they consider MC not that good looking ......anyway to me ...he is gorgeous! :D...MC...not David Beckham

I'm in the US and first became aware of Martin about 4 yrs ago. In the beginning I thought he was average looking, not your typical handsome leading male actor. However, the more you see of this man, the more you see his personality in action (he might be the perfect man) the better looking he becomes until one day you wake up and think, "Oh, yeah, this is what the real Prince Charming looks like."

I would bet all the disparaging remarks about Martin's looks were written by males! Most women see the charisma and sex appeal in the vulnerability and innocence in Martin's face. Great hair, lovely eyes, lips to get lost in, great complexion, very sexy voice, tall and talented. All this before we get to a killer sense of humor which outweighs regular features any day. As you can tell, in my opinion he's the best!

I also think he is fantastic-looking, especially his eyes and lucious lips. And I think he looked especially hot during series 4 & 5 of MBB, and I really appreciate his restrained style in Doc Martin. But it's lovely that you've posted this, where we can see what a lovely man he really is......(sighing)

@tantracecilia I wonder if it started because his looks are unusual and people like to put things into categories and he just didn't quite fit. Maybe after a while he decided to make it part of who he is, the guy that lets people tease him without getting offended.
