Part 2 - Sam Harris debated William Lane Craig at Notre Dame University on 7 April 2011 on the topic Does Good come from God?
Are the foundations for moral values natural or supernatural? - This was the way the debate was introduced by the moderator.
Introduction overview of the speakers (taken from the website):
Sam Harris, one of the "Four Horsemen of Atheism," a neuroscientist, philosopher, and bestselling author, will seek to show that the separation between scientific facts and human values is an illusion. Harris will prove that science, not religion, should provide the basis for morality.
William Lane Craig is an American Evangelical Christian apologist, theologian, and analytic philosopher known for his work in the philosophy of religion, historical Jesus studies, and the philosophy of time. One of the foremost apologists in the field, Craig has faced some of the best and has been known to hold nothing back in his sharpshooting style of debate.
Okay, let's see if I can do this in 439 characters or less.
G = God exists, M = objective moral (values and duties)
Craig's Modus Tollens:
If G, then sound foundation for M.
If ~G, then no sound foundation for M.
Supposedly, this is not an argument about whether God exists (and it devolved into an an argument about whether M exists).
Therefore, a sound foundation for M is contingent on G or ~G. This argument gives no room for ~G if one agrees with M. M's definition is ~ sufficient

I can tell by the look on Sam Harris' face that William Lane Craig's BUY-BULL SHIT is making Sam Harris sick to his stomach just listening to this moronic Christard! Yeah! I know all about Christian "morality" from personal experience. I have been beaten and kicked in the ribs by Christians, one who even pulled a knife on me! This was back in the summer of 1996.

Bible God advocates slavery, beating your children, and rape! Hardly what I would call a moral God!
