This is a clip (part 1 of 2) from FutureWeapons documenting the Northrop Grumman X-47B UCAS (Unmanned Combat Air System). Recent advances in robotics, sensors and artificial intelligence are used to engineer a drone aircraft that can perform naval missions and land on aircraft carriers autonomously. To develop this system, virtual prototyping and simulations are linked to actual aircraft control system hardware so engineers are able to monitor how the computer will operate the aircraft. This will ensure that the robot will perform as expected before it is built.

  • Why does he sound like he's whispering? :|

  • @DennisBayazitov I'm guessing not everyone can hear the same frequencies the same level and he has a distinct voice. Some ppl think he's whispering and quiet. Other's can hear him loudly. There are frequencies that you loose sensitivity to as you get older too, not sure if it's related.

lol not even close....they had a drone plan! This is an attack fighter. BIG DIFFERENCE!

  • Is this the one Iran jamed on us and now has?

  • Mick Jaggers..........Really?

  • palmdale, as in allison from palmdale?

  • 5:02 I wonder what HIS call sign was... lol

  • I see a million uses for one of these on a carrier.

    No pilot fatigue.

You can afford to lose it in battle.

You can have it loiter a target for hours if not days.

You can send them out in front of a fighter/bomber group and kill any AA in front.

I can't list them all! They are just that awesome!

  • We are on the edge of a cliff getting ready to be pushed off by weapons contractors that do not take morality into their process of judgement when creating such destructive weapons. This is AI as we currently have it. We all know that the US military is 30 years ahead in tech compared to the civilian world. That means that this thing is probably fully mission capable already. I fear that all the cautionary tales have been ignored for the greed and domination!
