Fortunately, it's not related to the games.

Cause usually: Game turned into live action = Utter failure in capturing the game's mood and atmosphere.

And the mask really isn't a reference to the games too, cause in the end "Persona" in latin means mask. Sayuko is just saying that she have another persona inside of her(psychologically speaking).
