For those who don't know, this battle took place in 1994. Hiroyuki Sakai (french chef we know today) did not join Iron Chef until later this year. By then Iron Chef was in the middle of its 2nd season. (1993 debut). Ishinabe was a very famous french chef who by this battle timeline, he was alreay 7 wins and 1 loss. This battle would make his 2nd loss and Ishinabe retires because of stress of the show. Sakai takes over along with Chen Kenichi and others from 1995 on and we know them all today! =)
