I have FINALLY retrieved a clue! Just by listening to S.Gadd playing with RTF

Now (after all these years) I understand what Mangione was talking about that night on the Tom Snyder Show !

Anyone know where I can get more recordings from this lineup? RTF is my favourite band, but Gadd is my favourite drummer. Loving this combo.

I always wanted to hear all their Flora era stuff with the Di Meola lineup too, if anyone knows of any recordings of that floating around.

Yes, Steve was the original drummer with Return to Forever, but chose to go the studio route instead. Hymn of the Seventh Galaxy was frist recorded with Steve on drums, but then rerecorded when Lenny joined the band.

Philadelphia is in PA, not NY. This is great though.  I had a copy of this when I was a student at berklee, lost itr over the years though.
