A fire that started Tuesday and been relatively quiet roared back into life as sundowner winds reached 40-60 mph late Wednesday afternoon. Over 20 homes had burned by nightfall. Firefighters were brought in from other counties to assist in the effort. Three firefighters from Ventura County were injured and transported to hospital for treatment. Governor Schwarzenegger proclaimed the area a state of emergency making it eligible for aid. Power lines are down throughout the area. Thousands of people have been evacuated from their homes. Currently the forecast is for winds to continue through Friday.
