Origionally this ran off a comutator and brush or roller system. The brush or roller was directly attached to the end of the cam shaft.

How much horse power can you get out of the T.

I used to hang around with a guy that restored model T's. He would take the timer off them and put a distributor on like you see here. Ive seen a lot of them like this but the original T's didn't have a distributor like you see on this one.

I noticed that the ignition was converted to a modern electronic type.
How did you do this? Did the Model T have a gear to drive the distributor or was that a custom install?

It's a common change, there are kits available.

yes it Sounds like an ford N tractor engine what is the HP of this engine?

My best guess based on the components I used is 35-40 Horsepower. A stock T was about 20 when new.
