That "vandalism" looks suspect, the color matches exactly to what's on the mural, the "damage" is of the most minor kind, a few thin streaks and most of the paint is on the sidewalk.
A vandal would use neon orange or some other garish color in paint filled balloons and there would be big time splashes in my humble opinion.
What better way to get media attention... a claim of vandalism.
Thanks to "Balloon Boy" my "Hoaxmeter" is now on high alert.

Looks like it could be fixed quite easily. The only question is, would the perpetrators or someone else come back and do it up even bigger next time?
