Steam double headed special (UP 844 & SP 4449) make a surprise visit to East Auburn, WA, while their train is turned on the wye at Auburn. Sorry, there was no time to grab the tripod so this is a handheld walkaround of the power just before it begins rolling back to the main. Lots of detail of the running gear and all those sounds that only steam locomotives make. This is probably the only time UP steam has ever been to East Auburn.
What was the loud pop?

@Jemalacane Where in the video did you hear this? I only noticed the sounds the engine was making.

I think this is just one if the engine noises. If you notice, a discharge of water under the cab accompanies the sound so it is probably related to that. Maybe someone that knows the workings of a steam locomotive can offer a further explanation.

Thanks! I had the place all to myself - no other railfans, etc, hanging around so I could get the shots (and sounds) I wanted.
