I really felt like doing a speedrun, but hadn't anything worth being speedrunned, so I thought a racing game would be enough.
Also thanks to Nightbug Creations for the new rendering program for smooth framerates.
Tokkyu Tenshi has been released some time ago in C75 and probably hasn't gained as much attention as Recettear but it even has a network mode and level editor.
Anyway there are two standard race types, singleplayer race against time, and multiplayer race where the player with the most points wins.
The first one is obvious but the second has is influenced by various things.
First of all the player who is currently at the front continuously gets points.
You get points for jumping on enemies or killing them another way.
You score higher the more enemies you jump on in a single combo a la Mario, same goes for killing enemies with the same projectile.
The player, who reaches the next lap first gets a 300 point bonus, the last one being 1000.
And last but not least, getting hit or falling down costs you 50 points, while being too long behind the screen costs you 300 points.
7:10 I'm glad to say, no, I don't know him from Recettear. I know him from Chantelise, like two years ago when that shit was hipster as fuck because, I am a hipster who plays obscure japanese vidya and shit. Or in this case, used to. ;_;
But seriously, I had no idea about this. I'll probably get it now, looks fun as hell.
