The IRS says you owe how much? How did they come up with that figure? A substitute for return that's how. Learn how one lawyer took a client with a huge IRS Problem and got them the IRS Help that they deserved. From $200,000 to $600! Extraordinary!
Sorry to spoil the fun, but all these "tax helper" companies do is assist you with an Offer in Compromise. It's called a 433a. You can download the form and do it yourself. But keep in mind, by setting up a offer in compromise this will wave the 10 year limit the IRS has to collect from you. You're basically handing over your rights by doing this. And, you must stay clean for 5 years. They will be on your ass forever. Best is to file and not pay. Don't leave money in the bank. Cash all.
The IRS does not have the authority to create a SFR for the vast majority of Americans. Where in the Statutes or Regulations does it say they can do this?
Reading IRC 6020(b) titled, Authority, it states in part;
1.The following returns may be prepared, signed and executed by revenue officers under the authority of IRC 6020(b):
Nowhere in that list does a Form 1040 appear. So, under what authority are they creating a SFR 1040?

Was it income tax? And if so, why pay it at all.
There is NO law that says you have to pay your income tax.
