The reason we take risk is for the reward they yield. You'd be a bloody idiot to take unnecessary risk "for shits and giggles". Driving a car is a risk, but the reward (transportation) outweighs it. We take steps to greatly reduce risk (IE seatbelts). You're relying on a logical fallacy to back you up, "I've never worn a helmet and I haven't died". What are you 12? A seatbelt's never had to save my life but I still use them!

How correct you are! no i don't have a sector 9 pos and no i'm not in middle school, i have a BC Eel with paris 180's and o'tang In Heats and bones swiss bearings and i actually do go 40+ mph and i have never worn a helmet in my life, so far i haven't died. So quit your bitching and stop telling other people what to do, it's their choice

@oobernerd Dying however, is not. Any moderate DH boarder will hit 40+ mph, and a hit to the head at that speed could definitely prove fatal. In fact, I doubt you're even a "longboarder", just some little middle school kid doing laps around his neighborhood on his little sector 9 board his mommy got him at the mall.
Use common sense: wear a helmet.
