Sulfur dioxide (also sulphur dioxide) is the chemical compound with the formula SO2. It is a poisonous gas that is released by volcanoes and in various industrial processes. Since coal and petroleum often contain sulfur compounds, their combustion generates sulfur dioxide unless the sulfur compounds are removed before burning the fuel. Further oxidation of SO2, usually in the presence of a catalyst such as NO2, forms H2SO4, and thus acid rain.[2] Sulfur dioxide emissions are also a precursor to particulates in the atmosphere. There are many different types of volcanic eruptions and associated activity: phreatic eruptions (steam-generated eruptions), explosive eruption of high-silica lava (e.g., rhyolite), effusive eruption of low-silica lava (e.g., basalt), pyroclastic flows, lahars (debris flow) and carbon dioxide emission. All of these activities can pose a hazard to humans. Earthquakes, hot springs, fumaroles, mud pots and geysers often accompany volcanic activity.

The concentrations of different volcanic gases can vary considerably from one volcano to the next. Water vapor is typically the most abundant volcanic gas, followed by carbon dioxide and sulfur dioxide. Other principal volcanic gases include hydrogen sulfide, hydrogen chloride, and hydrogen fluoride. A large number of minor and trace gases are also found in volcanic emissions, for example hydrogen, carbon monoxide, halocarbons, organic compounds, and volatile metal chlorides.

it doesnt matter all that much if scientists are being dishonest because the scientific method will weed those people out, this is why creationists have never put forth a valid scientific argument for creationism because the method which science uses weeds out their lies. its hilarious to see adults believe such childish things but anyways, it wont be this way for long, i think by one more generation (maybe two but doubt it) creationism will be wiped from the earth

@KJVWordofGod They are not efficient, especially after you factor the cost and problems with waste disposal. With solar and wind, you do not have to worry about storing nuclear waste inside a bunker for the next 50,000 years. You may not like the regulatory controls on coal plants, but have you ever visited the Grand Canyon in summer? It get's awfully smoky. Now it might not be possible to completely replace coal and nuclear plants, but we can certainly reduce the need.

@lawilson200 Getting to be efficient? LOL Give it up and leave your fantasy world. They are NOT more cost effective than coal or nuclear. Coal is the cheapest most abundant, best fuel there is, but the earth worshiping greenie religious zealots have put so many regulations on coal companies to try to drive them out of business it SEEMS to make foolish things such as wind and solar cost efficient. PS Did you know Airbus' planes have been grounded with structural integrity cracks?

I also recommend that you read "The Sign" by Robert Van Kampen and "The Pre-Tribulation Rapture of the Church" by Marvin Rosenthal. Keep studying!! And do try to get over that bias you have from the media and the government schools! The Earth is only about 6000 years old!!

@thechessstick You don't seem to get it! The Rapture is a false doctrine! Christ will not be returning twice, which means you don't get a get out of the the tribulation free card. Its misapplication of the Book of Daniel suggest that Christ isn't the actual Messiah. You would be better off reading the Gospels and apply Matt 25:30-40 to your life. You are not saved by following heresy.

@thechessstick I am not interested with your false teachings hypocrite. The so-called rapture was not a teaching found in the original church, it was not a teaching of Augustine or Thomas. It was not a teaching of the reformers like Luther,Cramer or even Calvan. It did not appear until the late nineteenth century. It is a false teaching that misuses and misapplies scripture. It is you who is lost.
