To avoid confusion, I think it is completely fine to tell someone they shouldn't cut themselves, or they shouldn't starve themselves --- please remember the context to all of what is said. These words do not apply to all situations - I encourage you all to think for yourselves, and not view this specific situation as black & white.

Also note the key differences, in one situation you are telling someone not to hurt their own bodies, and in another you are putting them at risk for significantly hurting their bodies ~ thank you for considering all these factors.

There are girls who are raped at a very young age. Like, at 13 or 14. And some of them are so small that if they have a child, they could die in childbirth. You can't expect anyone, especially not a 13 or 14 year old girl, to choose the "life" of someone who they don't know and have never seen over their own lives. And unborn children are not developed enough to have the emotional capacity to think "I'm about to die. This hurts my feelings." That's just how I see it. Thanks for posting this!

The government should not have any sort of law dictating what women OR men can or cannot do with their bodies. And that logic applies to everyone else for that matter. If you don't agree with abortion, don't have one. Period. Every circumstance is different and there are many, many factors that apply to each individual. It isn't as simple as if the woman was raped or not, and anyone who thinks otherwise is oversimplifying another person's life.

@dementedsmiles Heck, with all the over-population in this world, it would be a better choice to ADOPT kids. To give kids that don’t have any parents another chance! Hey, I have an Idea, Why don’t we make it illegal for women to get pregnant until the over-population problem gets fixed? I bet your initial reaction was: “NO WAY!” You know what? If someone gets pregnant and has a baby, it won’t change the fact that the infertile women cannot have a child. Think a little, won’t you? @dementedsmiles My friend once got accidentally pregnant and got an abortion, because she barely had any money to maintain HERSELF, let alone a kid she would bring into the world. She knew if she didn’t get an abortion, that baby would have been born into poverty and lived a life of suffering. There are worse things than dying. Much worse things.
