Daley Thompson's Decathlon on the Amstrad CPC - longplay and review!

On your marks, get set, BREAK YOUR JOYSTICK! And injure your wrists as you waggle away furiously *snigger*. In fact I recorded this commentary live first time but it sounded like I was wanking off ;) But anyway ....

This early classic from Ocean Software sold by the truck load back in 1985, with teenagers desperate to have a home version of the brilliant and all-conquering Track & Field arcade coin-op. This is the nearest we got at the time, and whilst looking a bit nob these days it did the business. This feels a lot harder than the Speccy and C64 versions. Daley Thompson lended his name to the game off his popularity after winning GOLD in the Olympic games decathlon in 1980 and 1984.

This is one of the first games I ever played (the first is elevator action). I never managed to finished it.However in Daley Thomsons olympic challenge I managed to finish it!In this game I destroyed 2 joysticks!!!!

Broke so many joysticks on this game. Great stuff though.

To make it run at top speed you had to hold the joystick upside down and tilt it left-right fast.

@SPINNYFUCK Yea I heard about the bugs which allowed you to cheat in most events ... like the high jump you run passed the posts and jump directly up and you get ridiculous scores or sommat? I didn't find any in the Amstrad version tho :(

@SPINNYFUCK I've seen this game in your TOP 10 best games.It plays rather well on the CPC but generally CPC and Speccy versions differ only in graphics and rarely in gameplay....
