There are hundreds of waterfalls in the Upper Peninsula. Among them is an impressive collection of cascading falls found in the Western U.P. on the Black River. The Black River Trail is nearly three miles long and the high point of your hike are the five waterfalls making your experience seem more like a combination of a botanical and geological tour rather than a hike.

The Black River Trail begins at Black River Harbor which is maintained by the National Forest Service. The trail is rated as moderate to difficult because of the occasional hilly terrain and the stairways that descend to each of the waterfalls.

During this hike I recommend you take a camera. You wont get many opportunities to photograph waterfalls like these.
