"What is the value of money? What is the value of art?" asks gallery director Catherine Morgan. See introduces the first $1,000,000.00 oil painting in Hawaii by Theodore Jankowski. This Picasso-like piece is showing at North Kohala Artists' Cooperative, Kenji's Place near King Kamehameha Statue in Kapaau on Big Island 11 am - 5 pm • 7 days a week. The colorful, million-dollar painting is called "Summerfield". Catherine says, "Theodore Jankowski is probably one our most professional, long term, trained and widely acclaimed painters. His work is unusual, playful, serious, joyful. Whenever he brings in a new piece it always causes a stir."

This video was shot and edited by staff and students of Maka Aina Filim School as a public service announcement for the artists of North Kohala and as encouragement for artists everywhere.

  • The most valuable thing about that painting is the old wood frame. LOL. Million dollar painting with a 20$ frame. Nice one.

  • retard.....

  • I'm sure some rich fool will buy it. Let's just hope he doesn't need to get his money back out of it till the guy's six feet under cause it ain't gonna happen in this lifetime.I've seen children paint better than that..I know beauty's in the eye of the beholder,or is that the beer holder? Go smoke another 'fatty' dude..rotflmao !!!

  • The "Beholder" or the spectator is not the one who gave that awful one million dollar tag price, it's the painter itself. If it's not your taste, don't buy it. Simple.

  • just a showbusiness.

the painting technique is extreme bad.

  • Ability is the value of money. Ability is the value of art. The higher the ability, the higher the price.

  • It's very beautiful Hippie, lovely colors! Not a million though.

  • Great work hippie!

  • if i had a spare million laying around i would of invested it

  • i'll take 2 please....great work...
