A very articulate Muslim mother of an Alameda student expressed her dismay that the Alameda School Board would hire consultants and spend funds for LGBT curriculum, helping only one of the protected classes of students, while students have bullied and harassed her daughter for her Muslim beliefs. In addition, as demonstrated by board member Mooney, the school board doesn't want to provide equal protection for ALL protected classes, only the LGBT students.
POerhaps this could be why?
On Thursday night, gunmen stormed a church in the northeastern city of Gombe and opened fire as worshippers were praying, killing six people, including the pastor's wife.
The attacks come as a three-day ultimatum issued by a purported spokesman for an Islamist group Boko Haram, for Christians to leave the north

It would be better if this happened before the kids killed them selves or hurt other kids.
The Two things that will change the way the school deal with this abuse is .
Multiple law suites of Multi-Million dollarsthat exceed the schools insurance.
law suites in all 50 states
The next is parent physically going after the school board members and putting them in hospitals.

rdomholt and sumading,
the school board had the option of including training for the staff and students regarding discrimination against students who are black, muslim, etc., but chose instead to ONLY include training for LGBT students. Sound fair? Even though race discrimination was the most prevalent as recorded by school officials, they didn't want to include anti-racial discrimination training for students and staff. Sound like a bias to help only the LGBT students? Yep, it was.

I can't beleive this! This lady is asking for tolarance for muslims in AUSD but then she says that she is strongly opposed to the tolarance program. How does this make sense? This is another example of religon trying to interfear with the public school system.

I don't really understand. I'm with this women for the first four minutes of her speech. Her children have been the victims of intolerance, and she has a very legitimate complaint. I keep waiting for her to argue that tolerance programs should be expanded and made more inclusive. Instead, she says she is "strongly opposed" to the tolerance program. I just don't see how that follows from her stories of the intolerance she experienced towards her family's religious beliefs.
