Of course, but many old artists live on. ABBA, the Beatles, MJ etc. still live on today. Usher for example most likely won't make it past 2015. My point is, today's mainstream artist almost always die out. Lady Gaga and Justin Beaber are both very popular this moment. No one will listen to their music in 2015. Other artists with actual good songs with a deeper meaning and not just a catchy tune or sexy face usually make it longer.

@Az3trk: I guess 2010 is about to be old in the next 3 weeks too lol. The song don't last long but the artist can remain if they can continue to reinvent themselves. Diddy, usher, modanna, ll cool j are all perfect examples. Sometimes the general public might not hear of an artist after a while but I'm sure it's for a logical reason. I'll give you an example. Record label went bankrupt, Artist was sued out of their money. Artist was arrested. like mystical. and so on....

These artists don't last long, modern mainstream artists do not last more than a few years and then they die out. That's what makes a 1 year old song old.

1 year ago 2009 is considered old these days???? I can't believe some of the comments here saying that 2009 is old. So then our cars gotta be old then too right
