Skrillex 2nd EP release this year features some pretty impressive mixes of progressive house, electro, and dubstep. It's a winning combination of raw experimentation and the desire to just make a fantastic dance track.

Unfortunately, not every song follows this formula. Skrillex reels in a lot of his eccentric edits on the second half of this EP, and the remixes tacked on the end are certainly decent.

He's just starting to build a name for himself with this stuff. While the entire release isn't mind-blowing, there are some highly enjoyable tracks that bring a lot of surprises and creativity to the table.

When I first heard it, I would rate it 2/10

then it grew on me, it turned into an 8/10

but it has no long term appeal, now I think it's only a 3/10

Come on noodle drips, Don't be so judgmental. To say this EP is influential is putting it lightly. This EP changed the next couple years of electrostep dramatically. Sonny Moore is a helluva producer. I know we're all butthurt because this was labeled as dubstep and it isn't (i know i am) but putting all usual retarded culture shit behind us, it's really not that bad. It's not something i'd listen to daily, but i've put it on my phone's mobile party playlist.

@cyphr6 Err, not really. It's very repetitive, and follows a pattern of Intro, "drop", same style as into, back to drop, and that same pattern for pretty much the whole song. It seriously would only take about a 30 minute average to make a song like that in a VST program.
