Music from Australia and New Zealand in the year 1976:

Rabbit's promo-video for the title track 'Too Much Rock 'n' Roll', taken from the 1976 album 'Too Much Rock 'n' Roll'.

Note: Rabbit's leadsinger/frontman Dave Evans had been the original leadsinger of AC/DC, before making way for Bon Scott. His band Rabbit had a favourable live following in Australia, but didn't make a major impression; although the group's debut album 'Too Much Rock 'n' Roll' (1976) did reasonably well in Europe.

  • I found a website were you can download both of the Albums, they KICK so much ass its unbelievable. The Self Titled one is like a RocknRoll/Punk masterpiece. So good.

Its amazing they chose the word Rabbit. How about Kangaroo? That might have been better.

Did you know there are Three other bands called Rabbit.

RABBITT (south african band featuring Trevor Rabin of yes)

WRABIT (canadian outfit I dont know much about)

Also this guy called RABBIT who did a solo album . Crazy

  • Kangaroo! That may not have been a bad name for them at all! Perhaps even Karangaroo (a play with the magazine title and the name of the native animal).

I'm guessing Rabbit's history may trace back to the early 70's when it was not uncommon to come across a band name like Rabbit. They were probably hippy-prog-rockers before they turned glam-metal.

  • Where is the site that I can download the songs from?

  • *shrugs*

    Don't know.

  • that night i got my finger down the girls undies and fingered her pussy. I was hooked on rocknroll (and pussy) ever since.I was fourteen and this was at the Armidale town hall in 1976. I bought rabbits album from a second hand store in England years later. Rabbit please reform!

  • THIS IS THE FIRST ROCKNROLL BAND I EVER SAW. Rabbit were the support band for T M G and were so much louder cruder and lewder than them. They were so loud. Actually a thgirl who was in my class at Uralla high school had one of those green light sticks and she bit the lid off it and threw the contents all over the guitar player. It was all green and luminescent but after Rabbit realised the green stuff took the paint off their les paul guitar they refused to play unless the culpret was kicked out

  • Jeez i wonder if they'd ever heard Kiss Alive at this point

  • ULTIMATE CLIP of HARD ROCK

unknown but so AUSSI I want to kill of Midnight Oil

  • RADIB

  • Dave Evans is a very GOOD R&R singer/frontman.

  • Fuk Yeh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thanks nzoz, brings back memories. For a time the band was called "A Rabbit" (check the kick drum at the start of the Lady La-Di-Da clip). Story goes that when they were looking for a name someone suggested that they just pull something out of a hat, to which someone replied "What, like a rabbit". so "A Rabbit" stuck for a while. I guess they dropped the "A" when they started recording.

  • to aussie legand baz. Actually we call someone a Wombat cos he "eats, roots, shoots & leaves"... has nothing to do with rabbits.

  • @gordanslave. Actually we call someone a Wombat cos he "eats, roots, shoots & leaves"... has nothing to do with rabbits.
