What scientific value does Steven Jones' work have?

"I find Professor Jones' thesis that planted explosives (rather than fire from the planes) caused the collapse of the Towers, very unreliable.

Before one (especially students) supports such a conspiracy theory, they should investigate all details of the theory. To me a practicing structural engineer of 57 continuous years (1941-1998), Professor Jones' presentations are very disturbing."

D. Allan Firmage

Professor Emeritus, Civil Engineering, BYU

Steven E. Jones is a professor at Brigham Young University. He has created the paper which has created the ground swell around the 911 conspiracy theories. His paper was peer reviewed but not by a civil engineering journal. One would think a serious professor would get his paper peer reviewed by a scientific journal which specializes in the field they are writing the paper on.

But is Professor Jones qualified to create a paper which says the towers must have fallen due to explosives? He is a physics professor but what experience does Jones have in building collapse forensics? He has none. His other peer reviewed papers consist of cold fusion technology. He conducts research in nuclear fusion and solar energy. Nothing in his background would suggest he is qualified to write a civil engineering paper on the infinitely complex building collapse of the towers.

Brigham Young University doesn't want anything to do with the paper.

A few department chairmen at Jones' university have issued critical statements, though none of these has yet addressed any of the points which Jones made in his paper and at his presentation at BYU. Chairman of the BYU department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Dr. Miller, is on record stating in an e-mail, "I think without exception, the structural engineering professors in our department are not in agreement with the claims made by Jones in his paper, and they don't think there is accuracy and validity to these claims".

The BYU physics department has also issued a statement: "The university is aware that Professor Steven Jones' hypotheses and interpretations of evidence regarding the collapse of World Trade Center buildings are being questioned by a number of scholars and practitioners, including many of BYU's own faculty members. Professor Jones' department and college administrators are not convinced that his analyses and hypotheses have been submitted to relevant scientific venues that would ensure rigorous technical peer review." The College of Engineering and Technology department has also added, "The structural engineering faculty in the Fulton College of Engineering and Technology do not support the hypotheses of Professor Jones."

  • Who are these boneheads? And what are they talking about that Jones had a peer Review done by the 911 truth movement? That wouldn't be a peer review you jackass. This is one reason I believe much of what Dr. Jones say's. The only people who try to discredit are morons on the internet. I never see Dr. Jones on any talk shows. They only pick the screwballs with wild theories and try to bunch anyone else who disputes NIST and FEMA in with them. I want to see one face to face debate with Dr. Jones.

  • yea me too. but unfortunately jones is too afraid

  • now, a fire can only reach temperatures of up to 1200 degrees F. so the fire could not possibly melt the columbs bacause fire will never become hotter than its own temperature.

it would be better if you actually look things up for yourself, really.

  • culoumns didnt have to melt before they failed

  • actually it was thermate. (of course stronger than thermite) jones never said that it would melt the entire building, but rather used to melt the columbs of the building, making it to be a CONTROLED DEMOLITION.

well, steel melts at 2750 degrees F. this can only occur like in some sort of blast furnice or using thermite. haha. so what's the mystery there?

  • steel loses half its strength at 600°C which certainly was enough to bring the buildings down according to experts. but what do they know, huh?

  • 1. The towers were not built like giant PC cases.

    2. None of the scientists claimed that nano-thermite brought down the towers (they speculate it played a role).

    3. The scientists limited themselves to proving the existence of unreacted and reacted incendiaries (particularly nano-thermite) throughout the dust samples collected from the disaster site.

  • @911MmRy the center columns were designed to hold up the weight of the towers.. its the reason they are standing in the first place. The planes are not to blame for destroying enough columns to bring the building down. So, if the building had to fall due to failing columns, what made them fail? It is true the fire could NOT have been hot enough to weaken/melt the columns to the point of failure. Then what made them fail?

  • Steven Jones=Shill, no doubt

  • there were no aircraft you idiots....the media was 100% in on it..watch...MOSSAD CAUGHT IN VAN ON 9-11 "FILLED WITH EXPLOSIVES" GW BRIDGE. learn more real truth from Myron Fagan speech, cfr in america and a speech by Benjamin Freedman at the willard hotel.

  • I can't believe that these two video masturbaters have generated this much traffic. And Steven Jones is treated like a fool. Planet Earth. Yep. Makes sense.

  • watch?v=5d5iIoCiI8g

  • Search for Steven E Jones article: "Geo-Fusion and Cold Nucleosynthesis". Steven E Jones is among the U.S. funded researchers of the same technology that was used to bring down the World Trade Center in a virtual cloud of dust, it was not thermite nor any one of the superior forms of it. Steven E Jones doesn't want you to know that it was a cold nucleosynthesis and that he is one of the experts on the subject. Was he involved in the conspiracy?

  • I appreciate the portions of your video in which you analyze evidence, but unfortunately you decided to spend most of your commentary in the video attacking Jones and appealing to authority.

Please, stick to the evidence (if you want "deniers" to pay attention.)

  • @mikebuhroo it's true, they just strawman the shit out of it

  • thermite is not incendiary cant even melt a computer tower its just a glorified roman candle

  • @911MmRy

LOL Experts like NIST? Or the 911 omission report.

And steel losing half its strength does not explain molten steel, lol.

Do all the Duh'boinkers/disinfo agents read from the same manual, haha.
