Footage from the opening night of a photography exhibition in The Mad Fish Restaurant at Cronin's Pub, Crosshaven, Co. Cork. Ireland.

The photographers involved are Marcin Krupa, David O'Riordan, Siobhan Russell and Joleen Cronin who have collaborated on the theme of documenting their surrounds. What is unique is how each photographer brings their own dimension, style and skills to this project.

Special thank you to Paul Brierly, Chairperson of Crosshaven Tourism who kindly opened this exhibition.

Marcin Krupa a Polish photographer and graphic designer, based in Crosshaven has specialized in time lapse photography. By photographing a scene several times over a period of time a unique and interesting perspective is re-played to the viewer showing the scene evolving through the natural movement of the landscape and passing of light. This will be accompanied by a series of still photography of local scenes.

David O'Riordan, who has recently opened Alpha Photographic studio in Penrose Warf, Cork city will be presenting selected works from a personal project entitled "The City" which documents Cork in a series of black and white images. This project came about after David returned to Ireland after living in the States for several years, where he found a very different Ireland to the one he left. With fresh eyes, he began exploring and documenting through the lens the laneways, sights and sounds of the new and modern Cork he encountered.

Joleen Cronin, who has published the popular travel photography books "Coast of Cork" and "Coast of Kerry" in association with the Evening Echo, will be presenting a body of explorative work where she looks at series of shapes and textures inspired by her surroundings. Her photography work has developed into an emotional mix of travel, lifestyle and portraiture photography. Her last exhibition was a joint venture with Siobhan Russell where they collaborated on a photographic documentation of Fort Camden, supported by Cork County Council.

Siobhan Russell, mother, wife and freelance photographer has found her peace in the woods near her home in Crosshaven. Enthralled by the changing light and emerging shapes of the growing trees she has created a series of beautifully presented work on canvas. Siobhan comes from a background of industrial photography and has graduated from the Crawford College of Art and Design with a BA in Photography and Fine Art.

This exhibition opened on Wednesday, May 18th and runs until 3rd July 2011.
